Stonefly Heliothis Diet, 1 Kg
Artificial diet pre-mix in powder form that provides complete nutrition for Plecoptera, an order of insects commonly known as stoneflies. There are about 3,500 species described worldwide. Heliothis is a genus of medium-sized noctuid moths including several forms having larvae (ex. corn earworms) that are destructive pests of cultivated crops.
The diet can be used to grow a wide assortment of worms that are not host specific like the catalpa worm. It is recommended for rearing corn earworms, manduca sexta, bombyx mori, and vanessa cardui ( painted lady butterflies), and other multiple moth and Lepidoperta species.
Diet Preparation: Simply mix 1-part of the pre-mix with 3-parts of cold water vinegar solution.
Directions: Premix 24%, Water w/v 71%, White Vinegar 5% w/v. Mix water (19-parts) and vinegar (1-part). Slowly combine the required quantity of water-vinegar solution to the dry mix until the mixture has the consistency of a stiff cookie dough.
